The UNDP smart facility in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, required a reliable and affordable green energy solution that meets high-quality standards and serves as a showcase for sustainable energy on both national and international levels. The system needed to integrate smart services such as security and adaptability while contributing significantly to the facility’s electricity demand. However, the project faced the challenge of Mongolia’s extreme continental climate, characterised by long, harsh winters and short summers. Ensuring that the solar PV system could withstand these severe climatic conditions was a key requirement.
We successfully supplied, installed, and integrated a 50 kWp hybrid solar PV system (Solar PV + Grid/Generator) for the UN smart facility in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The system provides approximately 27.5% of the total electricity demand of the site, delivering affordable and sustainable green energy while ensuring smart functionality, security, and adaptability. Designed to endure the region’s challenging weather conditions, this turnkey solution stands as a model for innovative renewable energy applications, supporting UNDP’s goals for sustainability and serving as a showcase for clean energy solutions on both national and international levels.
Renewable energy is a symbol of a bright new future for Africa and for our planet. We aim to provide access to sustainable, high-quality energy systems and infrastructure across Sub-Saharan Africa.
