UNDP Indonesia

Bringing reliable solar energy to 23 remote villages in Indonesia, we successfully installed 245 kWp of solar PV systems despite extreme flooding challenges. Elevated platforms now safeguard critical components, ensuring long-term sustainability and energy access.

Indonesia

challenge

The project posed significant challenges due to the harsh climatic conditions on-site. Frequent heavy flooding often rendered the area inaccessible, severely complicating the installation process. Ensuring the system’s long-term viability required innovative problem-solving. To safeguard critical components from potential flood damage, we engineered and built a 3-meter-high platform to house the solar panels, battery storage, and powerhouse. Despite these obstacles, the installation was successfully completed in 2024. Now, with a two-year maintenance contract in place, we can ensure the continued operation and reliability of the system.

outcome

Great news from a major project in cooperation with UNDP: We successfully installed four solar systems with a total capacity of 245 kWp, providing reliable solar energy to 23 villages in Indonesia that previously lacked access to a dependable power supply. Together with our local partner, we built the PV systems, power houses, and distribution lines to ensure seamless energy distribution.
